To me what defines a scam is something that which is either dishonest or simply doesn’t exist in the first place. You need to question every opportunity that you are presented with and analyse it in your head to at least some degree. “How do you think this opportunity really makes money?”
WHAT DEFINES A SCAM
Does it rely on people signing up under you? Does the business idea itself actually make money? If a business only makes money by other people buying the training programs, this should ring alarm bells. Just sell the training programs. Be open about it. Don’t lie to yourself or other people about how the money is made.
OPPORTUNITIES I’VE SEEN – WHICH YOU NEED TO QUESTION
SURVEY SITES
Some pay out and others simply do not pay out. I Should note there are also survey sites which pay so little you are basically wasting your time (Be sure to check the payout rates on these surveys too). I’ve been able to more or less guess the good ones by the standard of their website and if it looks really “Budget” or offers unrealistic returns is more than likely a scam.
EMAILLER PROGRAMS
I tried this briefly. Where you email a bunch of people and hopefully make some money out of it. I don’t see where the money comes from unless I convince other people to buy into the program and buy the “training courses”. I emailed around 120,000 people and got a few opens, and a few clicks. It amounted to $2.00. If I’m purchasing email address at a rate o $100 for $100000 of these it simply does not make sense. If all you had to do was email the people why doesn’t the company itself do this? This is not new technology. I should note there might be some advantage to owning the email address though (Ie: if you can email them your own opportunity).
WORK FROM HOME SITES
They charge a membership fee and tell you you can work from home earning xxx per hour. I’ve bought into a couple of sites and they list advertisements that seem to circle around and lead you no-where. Do these Work at home jobs exist? Why don’t the companies (which have huge HR depts) just advertise normal job listing sites?
CRYPTO TRADING ALGORITHMS
I should say I’ve never tried this. The stock market fluctuates up and down the a bot is supposed to know what humans are going to do next and predict the movements from there. I would say this would have some level of success, but I doubt very seriously the returns reflect the ads I’ve been seeing. I will endeavour to try this out (and let you know how this goes) in the future.
SUPPLEMENT AND VITAMIN SALES
This is a huge industry. Heaps of people (including myself) buy vitamins. What does the company you are looking at joining do that will stand out from the crowd? Why would a consumer stop buying the vitamins they are already buying and switch to you? This reminds of the old AMWAY multi-level-marketing thing that was big in the 80’s and 90s. I will say there are some people that can succeed at this but you need to be able to push this hard, have a big network of friends or not be afraid to cold canvas in real life or line, and need to be able to psychologically handle a 99% rejection rate. This is not an easy win road to riches. I will say, I have seen this work. Its not easy though.
CONTACT ME THROUGH WHATS APP
Basically any opportunity that requires you to “Contact them via Whats App”. I’ve found every single one of these things I’ve looked at to be a either illegal or a blatant rip off. Why can’t they just tell you what they are doing in a facebook message. Is facebook gonna kick them off? Are they using WhatsApp for anonymity purposes so you can’t track them down later?
A FINAL WORD
Stay cool, my peeps. If an opportunity comes along your way, think about it first. Does it cost to join? Can you afford to throw away this much money? There’s a good chance you will be throwing away money. Once you know what defines a scam you’ll avoid a lot of them. The ballpark is constantly changing though. So keep your eyes open. Just step in the waters gently and go from there. Don’t buy into stupid hype. There’s a million opportunities out there, but if you get burnt on a scam it may stop you from finding that opportunity that sets you free.
